Season I: Jensen Lorenzen, chef and owner, The Larder Meat Co, San Luis Obispo, CA
Based out of San Luis Obispo, Jensen Lorenzen and his wife Grace started a consumer supported agriculture venture called Larder Meat Co., which brings a curated box of locally-sourced meat, recipes, and other goodies to subscribers’ doors. But before that, he and Grace owned The Cass House Restaurant in Cayucos, where he was chef and she ran the attached luxury inn. And before that, they owned a beloved bistro in Los Osos called Papillon — which they launched in their mid-twenties. A dyed-in-the-wool entrepreneur, Jensen pushes himself harder than most people I know to stay sharp and produce excellence in whatever form his task takes, whether that’s competing in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu or writing about the effects of constant stress on a chef’s mental health.
