About Jaime Lewis

I’m Jaime, a WRITER based in San Luis Obispo, California.

I’ve spent my career writing and talking about food and culture. In 2019, I launched CONSUMED, a podcast that brings listeners into the conversation. Next on the horizon: a collection of personal essays titled Questionable Taste: How I Learned To Live Without A Recipe.

My first byline appeared in 2009 beside an interview with one of my heroes, author and investigative journalist Michael Pollan. Since then, I’ve written hundreds of features and columns for publications like The Washington Post, Reader’s Digest, Huffington Post, Wine Enthusiast, Life & Thyme, Wines & Vines, Vegetarian Times, ITALY Magazine, Fathom, SOMM Journal, and Edible San Luis Obispo, for which I served as managing editor from 2016 to 2018. My writing has also appeared in lifestyle publications such as Darling and B3 Magazine, and I’ve guest-blogged for venerated food writing coach Dianne Jacob.

In 2008, after having lived on both sides of the U.S., I embarked with my husband on a year-long journey around the world to find a better place to settle than San Luis Obispo. We found no such place and have lived in SLO, now with our two children, ever since.

I am a graduate of Vassar College, certified Level III with the Wine & Spirits Education Trust (WSET), was named a fellow at the Symposium for Professional Wine Writers in 2018, and was a resident at The Wellstone Center in the Redwoods in 2023.
